Lust Have It! August 2013 Box Review

The August 2013 box includes 8 lovely beauty samples and 2 of those are full sized products. This month's box contained some new brands I have never used before that I am excited to try. As always the products were beautifully packaged in a Lust Have It! box and carefully wrapped in stylish black paper wrapping. This month will be the last of these boxes as the company will be introducing new packaging next month.

What's in the box?

The first item in the box is a sample card of the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 4 shades (Shell 130, Natural Beige 170, True Beige 190 and Natural Tan 220). The full size 30ml bottle retails for AUD$25.95. Considering that I pay over AUD$70.00 for my holy grail foundation I'd love to see how this foundation reacts on my skin. It'd be great to save some $$$ on a daily foundation.

August 2013 Lust Have It! box contents

  1. KMS California Free Shape Shampoo (12ml) The full 300ml bottle retails for AUD $28.95
  2. SINFULCOLORS Nail Enamel in shade Folly 395 (Full size 15ml). RRP AUD $4.95
  3. LA ROCHE POSAY Lipikar Balm (15ml) The full size 400ml retails for AUD $37.95
I was most excited to try this moisturisng balm that claims to replenish lipids in extremely dry skin and is formulated to treat eczema prone skin. It's paraben, soap and fragrance free.

I sometimes suffer from skin allergies so I'm keen to try a product claiming to soothe irritated skin. I
applied it on an itchy and irritated patch on my face and within a minute it did calm the irritation. I'm loving this so far and I'm keen to see how it goes. I  finally find a product that treats my sensitive skin reactions.
  4. LA ROCHE POSAY Thermal Spring Water (50g) The full size at 300ml retails for $21.95
This spray is formulated to soothe and reduce redness. It's also a natural anti oxidant which protects
    against free-radicals.
  5. KMS California Free Shape Hot Flex Spray (30ml) Full bottle is sized 200ml and retails for
AUD $31.95. It's a flexible hairspray and also protects against heat styling.
  6. LUSH Gorgeous Cream (10g) 45g full size retails for AUD $74.95
This face cream hydrates the face whilst maintaining a matte feeling and is suited for all skin types.
The only lush product I've used is the lip scrub, every time I walk into the store it's just a little overwhelming and the uber perky sales assistants put me off to be honest, so I'm keen to see if this $74.95 cream is worth the hype.
  7. REVLON Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in shade Clair Rose.
I received a full size of this at 30ml. It retails for AUD $29.95.

When I was younger I loved the whole golden/ highlighted look à la Jennifer Lopez but nowadays my preferred look is more matte classic. There was a big hype for the return and reformation of this illuminator so I might put it more to use when summer hits Sydney. I received a light colour but I have light Asian undertones so It'll work as a cheek and brow highlighter for me. Although I do wish that Lust Have It! customised products sent by allowing subscribers to fill out a survey thus receiving samples suited to their skin tones and skin types.
Swatch of Revlon's Photoready Skinlights: Face Illuminator
Below is a before and after swatch of the product. The photo is not as clear as I wanted (and was taken from two different spots in my home due to natural lighting change) but there was subtle sheen left on the skin.
Editors Final Notes
I really love that there are so many things in this box that I haven't used before and that there are some items in the box that are full sized. Lust have it! have continued to impress me with the contents of each month's box. I'm looking forward to next month's contents and to see what the new packaging will look like. 1. Wow I have to say this is one really good beauty box! I love the La Roche Posay thermal spray, it feels so refreshing on the skin :) The Lipikar balm looks so interesting- definitely looking forward for a review on it! I find that the Revlon Skinlights gives a really subtle sheen and blends out really nicely :)

    1. I'm loving the thermal spray. I haven't used the balm yet as I'm finding that the spray effectively calms my skin.

I haven't tried the Revlon Skinlights yet. I'm hesitant to use highlighting or shimmering products because I get oily skin, however there have been rave reviews about this product that I want to try it out in a Summer makeup look. =)
