Review of the November 2014 Lust Have It Beauty Box

I unsubscribed from Lust Have It! months ago because I was sick of getting so-so products delivered late but I recently availed an offer from them to get the November box for only $7.95. I can't pass up a good deal so I jumped on it as soon as I read the email. I only wanted to get the one box and I didn't think I'd be re-subscribed immediately so I got a bit of a surprise when I saw that I had an invoice for the December beauty box. I didn't really mind because I liked what was in the November box but I unsubscribed anyway. The November 2014 Lust Have It! beauty box contained 6 items - 7 if you include the beauty bag it's packaged in. I posted an image of the items I received on Instagram and in the photo you could see that one of the products was broken. Besides that though, I love everything in the November Lust Have It! beauty box.

Here is what  was included:

  1. Aveda Color Conserve. RRP $49.95, 100g. Received 10ml Deluxe Sample

This leave in treatment is designed to protect coloured hair. I haven't coloured my hair in years but I love the herbal scent of this product so I'm going to use it on the ends of my hair to give it extra hydration.

  2. So Susan Luminizer. RRP $35, 15g. Received Full Size Product

I already have this luminizer (Most likely from the Lust Have It! beauty box) and I have been using it alot more since the weather in Sydney started heating up. It's a water based product that's designed to melt into your skin and highlight the areas you've applied it on. I apply it on my brow bone and underneath my blush. It's also great for vegans because it contains no animal by-products and is cruelty free. Unfortunately this product arrived damaged for me. I've since covered up the top of the tube with plastic wrap to prevent it from drying up. I' m yet to receive a response about a replacement product from the LHI team.

  3. Natralus Paw Paw Gel. RRP $6.15, 30g. Received Full Size Product

A non oily, non sticky relief gel. This is a MUST HAVE for summer. I was a little silly on my recent camping trip and didn't apply sunscreen adequately so I am still peeling. This gel soothes and cools down the skin and dries matte. There's no colour and no scent so it's perfect for outdoors. I love it. I'll have to dedicated a whole review for it.

  4. Essenzza Facial Treatment Masks. RRP $4.95 x 2. Received 2 Masks

Suitable for all skin types but I haven't used it yet because of my face peeling from sunburn, but when that passes, I'll be using this on DIY facial masks.

  5. The Cosmetic Kitchen Pressed Mineral Blush. RRP $34.95, 8g. Received Full Size Product

A pure pressed mineral blush compact. I received the colour Raw Cacao which looks like a dusty pink shade. It's too light for my skin tone as a blush but perfect as a highlighter. The packaging is a black matte compact. Simple but I love that it's in a classic colour. Not 100% in love with it but I'm happy it's included in the beauty box.

All of the goodies came packaged in this pretty and practical pink mesh beauty bag. I remember writing in a suggestion (from their monthly  questionnaire) that they should package their items in a clear makeup bag so I was happy to see that they do this now [And in my crazy little head I like to take the credit for this HAHA!)

I'm more than happy with everything here and even happier that I only paid $7.95 for it. As I said earlier, I am subscribed for the December 2014 box so if that impresses me A LOT I could re-subscribe, if not at least I wouldn't be leaving Lust Have It very disappointed.

What did you think of the November 2014 box?

The Parcel by Marie Claire Summer 2015 Edit Box Reveal & Review

The Parcel by Marie Claire | Summer 2015 Edit
I have nothing but high praise for 'The Parcel' beauty box. Last season's premiere (click here to read my review) was impressive and the Summer 2015 edit is by far THE BEST beauty box I have ever received. This season's beauty box contains 11 goodies 5 of which are full sized products. So, without further ado here is what was included and what I thought about the products.

The Parcel by Marie Claire | Summer 2015 Edit

  1. Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara. RRP $23.95, 12ml. Received Full Size Product

This was a bonus for signing up to the Summer 2015 edit. If you follow me on instagram you'd know that I have a drawer full of mascaras yet to try. I'm fond of Max Factor. Having been the first makeup brand for films, I trust that their products will deliver what they promise. It's just a shame though that their marketing isn't as good...or maybe I should be happy cos it just means that their prices will be kept reasonable and I can continue buying my old time faves haha!...But really more people should try their range.

  2. Jergens Ultra Healing Body Moisturiser. RRP $5.99, 100ml. Received Full Size Product

I llooovvee Jergens! I was over the moon when I found out that it was going to be available in Priceline stores because I only got Jergens when my Godmother would come over from the US. Jergens is one of the top selling body lotions in America. It's super affordable and best of all it works wonders! I have sensitive skin but I never had a reaction from using the original formula however I think they also have a range for sensitive skin. If you haven't already tried Jergens I highly recommend you do and at under $6 you really can't go wrong.

  3. Revlon Age Defying CC Cream. RRP $26.95, 30ml. Received Full Size Product
Aimed to address hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, dehydration and uneven skin tone. This all-round face base also offers SPF 30 protection. I'm about 2 shades darker on my face at the moment so the shade I received "medium" would have been perfect but I'm going to have to wait until my "tan" disappears.

  4. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant. RRP $25, 50ml. Received 15g deluxe sample

I got sunburnt from my recent camp get away so this product is heavenly for my peeling and sun damaged skin. It's a beauty all rounder that you can use on your face (including lips) as well as your body. It's fragrance free but I can smell a hint of menthol, nothing drastic but I'm not a fan of the scent so it's a good thing that this product hydrates quickly and soothes the skin.

  5. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye. RRP $95. Received 5ml deluxe sample

This product is Australia's number eye treatment. I have heard nothing but good things about this product. I've only ever used samples of it because I still have a lot of eye creams to use up. I started using eye creams about 5 years ago and I can't get enough of them. I'm prone to dryness around my eyes so having an extra moisturizing eye cream really helps when I apply foundation. I love the hydration that this gives but I still can't justify the $95 price tag.

  6. Essie 'Good To Go' Top Coat. RRP $17.95, 15ml. Received Full Size Product

I love Essie nail polishes so when I saw that there was two of them in this months box I literally squealed with excitement. I received the 'Good To Go' Top Coat which is a rapid dry + shine product. I haven't used it yet because I'm finishing up my Seche Vite top coat but I'm sure that this will dry nails faster and leave a shiny top coat as promised.

  7. Essie Nail Lacquer in Sand Tropez. RRP $16.95, 15ml. Received Full Size Product

This gorgeous nude/beige shade is perfect for all seasons in my opinion. As with all polishes, 2-3 light coats of the product is recommended for the perfect finish.

  8. Philosophy Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser. RRP $15,90ml. Received 30ml deluxe sample

I haven't tried this cleanser yet. I can smell a herbal scent from it. I'll most likely be reserving this for when I travel next or go camping again.

  9. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Conditioner. RRP $15.99. Received 44ml deluxe sample

Designed to give fine hair volume. I'm fortunate to have been blessed with thick
(albeit difficult to manage at times) hair so this product didn't excite me as much as an anti-frizz serum would, but nonetheless I love John Frieda and the handy purse size will come handy when I travel.

  10. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo. RRP $15.99. Received 44ml deluxe sample

Pretty much all of the above but I'll add that the scent of both products is just divine. It's floral, fruity and fresh! I love using gorgeous scented products so this is a major bonus for me.

  11. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow Out Spray. RRP $16.99. Received 29ml deluxe sample

Again, I don't have much use for a volumising spray but it'll come handy when I need to do a doughnut updo and I need an extra lift in my hair.
There you have it, the beautiful contents of the Summer 2015 edit. The full sized products alone cost a total of $91.79. The subscription costs $25 so as you can see the contents more than cover the subscription price. I can't help but gush over how good this box is. I've recommended it to everyone I know. If you're new to beauty boxes, I suggest giving this a go. If you want to find out more click here. This box is going to be a tough act to follow but hopefully it only gets better.

Have you tried any of the products here?

The Parcel by Marie Claire Spring Edit 2014 Box Reveal & Review

The Parcel by Marie Claire Beauty Box pretty much works the same way as all the other beauty boxes except that it's a seasonal subscription box which means it's not so heavy on the pocket (like other subscription boxes can be) and the products are handpicked by the editorial team so you're guaranteed to receive on trend products for the season.

The first box arrived in early October. There was a total of 8 items 3 of which were full sized products. Here's what was in my Spring Edit 2014 box.

The Parcel | Spring Edit 2014
  1. L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Purse-Size Hairspray.  RRP $4.95, 75ml. Received Full Size

There is a reason why this product is a HG for celebrities and beauty aficionados alike. It has great hold without making hair stiff and also brushes out easily. I also like the pleasant fragrance and the iconic gold can. Definitely a product I can recommend. I don't use hairspray often so I like that it's purse-size. It's handy to carry around and because of it's compact size it doesn't take up much room.

  2. O.P.I Nail Lacquer in Desperately Seeking Sequins.  RRP $19.95, 15ml. Received Full Size

The included pamphlet had Gwen Stefani's range with OPI listed as the included polish so I was a teency bit disappointed that I hadn't received a shade from the new range. But I'm not too bummed out because Desperately Seeking Sequins is a gorgeous glitter polish that reminds me of an American Christmas with it's flake like silver specks.

  3. LANCOME Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector. RRP $97, 30ml. Received 7ml

This award winning product claims to visibly correct wrinkles, pores and the skin's texture in 6 weeks. I still haven't used the samles I already have of this product so I can't really comment on it's effectiveness. However Lancome is a brand that often delivers on it's claim so I have no doubt that it will deliver on it's claim about correcting the pores and the skin's texture. I don't really believe that creams can reverse wrinkles (or stretch marks) so I wouldn't hold my breath about that claim.

  4. BENEFIT They're Real! Push-Up Line. RRP $35.00. Received 10g

I was a such a noob when I used the liner sample. I had to google it a few times and watch a few youtube videos on how to use it. When I finally squeezed some product out I actually liked how the product glided over my lids. The sample size is a little awkward to manouver but from watching the youtube videos the full size product shouldn't be too difficult to use.

BENEFIT They're Real! Mascara. RRP $38.00. Received 3.0g

If you follow my instagram you'd see that not too long ago I posted a photo of my mascara drawer...I literally have enough to last me 1 (if not 2) years so I haven't gotten around to trying this out yet.

  5. REVLON Colorstay Moisture Stain. RRP $25.95 Received 8.0ml Full Size

I received the shade Miami Fever which I would describe as a fluro coral colour. I haven't decided whether I really like the product or not but it's not bad. Maybe it's the shade that's left me on the fence with this one but I'll keep using it so I can give it a proper review.

  6. PANTENE Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo & Conditioner. Received Mini Sample Size

This Pantene duo makes an appearance in almost all beauty boxes so I have a few of these in stock. I don't really like receiving this duo in beauty boxes anymore but hopefully it'll come in handy when I go way on holidays.

I really liked that the premiere of this box contained 3 full sized products and the contents more than cover the cost price of the beauty box. My favourite was the OPI glitter polish. I've decided to subscribe to this box again so I'm looking froward to the Summer 2015 Edit which will be sent out mid December. All in all I would recommend this box to a friend. Hopefully they continue to deliver great products.

April 2014 Bellabox Review

I'm really pleased with Bellabox's service. Each and every month they deliver their beauty boxes on time. This month 6 items were included in the box.

April 2014 Bellabox
  1. AVON MEGA EFFECTS MASCARA | RRP$19.95, 9ml | Full Size
The cost for this mascara alone covers the $15 charge of the box. I absolutely love the unique bristles of this brush. It's like you have a tool that gently paints your lashes with mascara and separates it so you're not left with a clumpy mess. I want to do a thorough review of this mascara so I'll keep it brief here. Here's an image of the brush and handle:

This was a bonus inclusion. 4 different shades of foundation sachet testers are included on the sample card.

  3. BURT'S BEES LIP BALM | RRP$7.95, 8.5g | Full Size
A cult favourite. This natural lip balm is a favourite among celebrities and beauty lovers. I have 3 unopened Burt's Bees lip balms and I didn't really love it the first time I tried this. I will have to give it a second chance though. Hopefully it's not one of those products that are overly hyped up and don't deliver on it's claims.

  4. INDIO EYE RISE | RRP$67.20, 15ml | 5ml
Aclay colourred yet kiwi-like scented eye cream. I've only tried it once. I didn't get any skin reactions from using this but I will keep it with the other cosmetics I'm yet to use up (I have a slight addiction).

  5. MONTAGNE JEUNESSE DRY SKIN MASK | RRP$4.99, 17g | Full Size
A two step at home facial mask and moisturiser. I can't wait to try it out this weekend for my weekly at-home-facial.

  6. VASELINE  ANTI AGEING BODY LOTION | RRP$7.68, 225ml | 25ml
I already have a couple of samples of this lotion from previous beauty boxes. It's a great little purse/travel size.
This box had 3 full sized items! I particularly love the mascara and face mask. Also, the Bellabox packaging is so cute and in my favourite colour. Did you like what was in you Bellabox this month?

March 2014 Bellabox Review

There were quite a few goodies in this beauty box. Some were old faves and some were new products I haven't tried yet. This box had a good selection of hair, body and cosmetic products. There was 8 products in total that was included.

  1. MODEL CO. PARTY PROOF CREAM LIPSTICK | 'Incognito' | RRP$16.95, 3.8g | Full Size

'Incognito' is a flattering wine shade which I think will suit a lot of skin tones. The lipstick is creamy and comfortable on application. The scent of this lipstick is pleasant and slightly sweet. I love that this lipstick's packaging includes a mirror on the lid - So handy! I don't know why no other brands have thought of this. The price of this lipstick already covers the box's AU$15.00 price. This lipstick is a lovely addition to my already ridiculous lipstick collection.

  2. WOW BY ROMY BATH GEL | 'Mandarin & Lime' | Deluxe Sample Size

This smells refreshing and uplifting but it really wasn't extraordinary, it's just like and other bath gel.

  3. MILK & CO. | Ultra Light Moisturiser | RRP$19.95, 115ml | 10ml

I love Milk & Co. their products are gentle yet effective and deliver on promises. Ultra Light Moisuriser is a light and comfortable product. It's moisturising yet non greasy. I have sensitive skin and I did not get any skin reactions from using this. It has a lovely light scent that smells slightly herbal.

  4. THIERRY MUGLER PERFUME | 'Alien' | Sample

A strong sweet scent. Not my cup of tea but it's not unpleasant.

  5. WOTNOT  FACIAL WIPES | RRP$7.95, 25 Wipes | 5 Wipes

These are one of my favourite brands of facial wipes. They're great for sensitive skin and are effective at removing makeup. I still find that I need my Lancome eye makeup remover to  remove my mascara.

  6. THIERRY MUGLER PERFUME | 'Angel' | Sample

Angel is a sweet and musky scent that is definitely not for the faint hearted. It lasts a long time and a little spritz is all you need. It's a strong scent and it can be over powering, it's like a female version of the Men's perfume Joop.

I love this. I already have these in my shower so having miniature sized bottles would be handy to have the next time I travel.

I'm Back!!!

Hello my lovely friends.

I'm finally back & have full access to my blog (The woes of technology). Apologies for my inactivity. I'm posting some well overdue reviews tonight and throughout the week. Thank you so much for your patience and I hope you enjoy the posts coming your way. ❤ ❤

March 2014 Lust Have It Review

I had planned to un-subscribe from Lust Have It! but I was offered to stay on for another month for only $10.00 so of course I could not decline. I've previously been disappointed with the Lust Have It! but the March 2014 contents impressed me so much that I decided to stay subscribed. Here are the contents of the box:

Lust Have It! March 2014
  1. BLOOM SECRET WEAPON CONCEALER KIT | 'Fair/Medium' | RRP$20, 5.5g | Full Size

This handy palette contains 6 creamy skin fixers including 3 concealer shades, an illuminiser, a blemish cover and an under eye concealer. The palette also comes with a small brush. At first I was sketchy about how good this was going to be but at first swatch I was excited about how thick and creamy the concealers were but still applied evenly over the skin. The fair/medium kit is a good match for my skin tone but it may be too light if you have a dark or olive skin tone.

  2. KLARA KISS PROOF LIPS | '04' | RRP$29, 8ml | 1.2 ml

This lipstick/gloss reminds me of the YSL glossy stains. The lipstick is comfortable to wear but I haven't had an opportunity to test out it's kiss-proof 24 hour lasting claim yet. I'm so glad I received the shade 04. It's a vibrant hot pink/magenta shade that I think would suit most skin tones.

  3. HUMAN TESTED VEGAN LIP BALM | RRP$9, 6g | Full Size

"Smooth, natural, long lasting lip balm which refreshens and soothes the lip while being vegan and human tested only"

    * I haven't had the pleasure of testing this lip balm yet *

  4. ORLY NAIL LACQUER | 'On The List' | RRP$18.95, 18ml | 5.4ml

'On The List' is a black currant  shade with a slight shimmer. 2 - 3 light layers achieves the gorgeous Autumn/Winter appropriate shade.

  5. AVEDA | INTENSIVE HYDRATING MASQUE | RRP$79.95, 150ml | 7ml

" An oil free  masque that hydrates and cools skin, providing soothing relief from dryness, stress, and exposure to the elements. " This is to be applied on to the face and neck after cleansing and exfoliating and left on for 5-10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Follow with your usual moisturiser.

A lovely product to help soothe the skin during the seasonal changes. It was gentle on my sensitive skin and did not irritate.

  6. RECOVERLYTE TROPICAL POWDER | RRP$11.95, 10 Sachets | 1 Sachet

An effervescent powder developed to restore electrolytes in the body after a night out. I haven't yet tried this out. I'm getting old and late nights aren't really my thing anymore, but this could come handy when I go to the Hunter Valley.

I can't wait to see what's in the April 2014 Lust Have It! box. Hopefully they continue including great products in their boxes because I am quite fond of this company having been the first beauty box company I was subscribed to. Are you subscribed to this beauty box? What was our favourite item?

Bella Box February 2014 Review

Once again Bella Box does not disappoint. This month's theme was 'Red Carpet Ready' and contained 6 deluxe samples. Here is what was included in this month's box:
Bella Box February 2014

  1. OM SHE: Buff Away Face Polish RRP$13.95, 125ml. Received 30ml sample.
A gentle but potent face scrub. The scrub is granular yet still gentle enough for my sensitive skin. The scent of this scrub is deliciously aromatic and botanical. All in all it was a great pleasure to use.

  2. BURT'S BEES: Milk and Honey Body Lotion RRP $19.95, 170g. Received 25g sample.
This is apprantly a cult product and unfortunately I do not see why. It may be sulphate, paraben and petrochemical free but it smells very unpleasant and even plastic like to me. It absorbed easily into the skin and is very light weight but the scent really bothers me so unfortunately I did not like this lotion.

  3. KLARA COSMETICS: Kiss Proof Lips Colour RRP $29.99, 8ml. Received 1.2ml sample.
A full coverage and long lasting matte lip colour. I received the shade 01 which is a gorgeous bronze-pink shade which reminds me of the NARS Orgasm blush shade.

  4. AVEDA: Pure Abundance Style Prep. RRP $44.95, 100ml. Received 30ml sample.
This spray volumises thin fine hair. It contains passion fruit, rice bran and acai oil and also helps to stop breakages. I haven't yet tried this spray yet but I'm expecting good things from it.

  5. SYNTHESIS: Organic Hydrate Tonic RRP $54.00, 50ml. Received 15ml sample.
This multi purpose spray can be used as a toner and a refreshing mist for hair and face. The scent is so pleasant and feels lovely on my face. I think I will keep this for when I travel next. I really liked this spray.

  6. SWISSPERS: Naturals Aloe Nourishing Face Cream RRP $10.99, 50ml. Received Satchet.
This was a bonus sample. This moisturiser is pleasant to apply and is suitable for all skin types. Unfortunately I don't think this will suit oily skin for the day time, so this will be better for use at night. This face cream has a light scent that isn't entirely unleasant but it isn't a pretty scent either. I didn't experience allergic reactions from using this. I love using Swisspers face wipes so I'm pleased that this face cream continues to do the brand justice.
I recently unsubscribed to 2 other beauty boxes but remained subscribed to Bella Box. I think that it's fair price, reliability and great content make it one of the best beauty boxes. I would highly recommend Bella Box for those interested in subscribing to a beauty box. If you're subscribed to Bella Box what was your favourite item this month?

Lust Have It! February 2014 Review

This month's LustHaveIt! box arrived on time. This month the box contained 7 items, 3 of which are full sized products. This was my last month being subscribed to Lust Have It! The brand was the first beauty box company I was subscribed to but unfortunately the continued late delivery of my last 3 boxes influenced my decision to cancel my subscription. Although this month did not come with it's collectible box packaging, I'm so glad that my last box from Lust Have It! was a good one. Here is what was included in the February 2014's Lust Have It! box:

Lust Have It! February 2014

  1. VASELINE: Ultimate 10 Anti Aging Body Lotion RRP $16.29, 750ml *Received 25ml Sample*
Claims to restore and tightens the skin whilst relieving the skin from dryness. The lotion smells luxuriously perfumed, is light weight and absorbs into the skin quickly. The lotion left my skin feeling soft and pleasantly scented. I did feel slightly itchy so this might not be ideal for sensitive skin.

  2. JUICE BEAUTY: Green Apple Peel Sensitive RRP $65, 60ml *Received 7ml Sample*
Exfoliates to reduce and refine fine lines and wrinkles and lightens hyperpigmentation. This mask is lovely to use. I didn't get a reaction from using this. I haven't used this long enough to test the claims on lightening hypermigmentation.

  3. (Whoops, I numbered the same product)

  4. HAND SPA BIJOUX: Hand Wipe RRP $1.50 *Received full size wipe*
Made from 100% cotton this hand wipe is designed to provide the skin with deep moisturisation. I did a little research on this and found that it also contains anti bacterial properties. So it's pretty much a luxurious cleansing wipe I think (of course I'm happy to be proven wrong). I didn't find it overly moistursing but the wipe felt pleasant against my skin. I wouldn't re-purchase this one though. I think it's a tad over-priced and a little gimmicky.

  5. THE COSMETIC KITCHEN: Eye Shadow in 'Raspberry Cooly' RRP$22.50 *Received Full Size*
Apply dry for subtle effects and damp for electric colour. I haven't tried this yet, but I'm glad I received a pink shade. I don't have many pink eye shadows.

  6. CLAIROL PROFESSIONAL: Radiance Shampoo RRP$13.95, 250ml *Received 50ml Sample*
I haven't tested this shampoo yet but it smells pleasant enough. It's designed to protect and instantly condition coloured hair.

  7. THE COSMETIC KITCHEN: Blush Brush RRP$22.50 *Received Full Size*
Certified vegan and cruelty free cosmetic brushes. The blush brush I received is so soft and the bristles are densely packed yet very felxible and distributes blush over the face evenly.

  8. CLAIROL PROFESSIONAL: Volume Mousse RRP$19.50, 50ml *Received 50ml Sample*
I don't use mousse so I'll leave give this to a friend instead.
I liked what was in this month's LustHaveIt! box. I liked receiving the blush brush in particular. Are you subscribed as well? What was your favourite item in the box?

Violet Box February 2013 Review

Violet Box has once again impressed me with the contents of their February 2014 beauty box. I'll miss my monthly surprises from Violet Box. I really liked getting the collectible boxes and I adored the packaging but I had to choose just one beauty box to stay subscribed to. Anyway, here is what was in this month's Violet Box.

Violet Box February 2014

  1. BE A BOMBSHELL - The One Stick in 'Girl Crush'. RRP $21.00 (Received Full Size)

"An all in one multiple stick with a smooth texture, Apply on eyelids, cheeks or lips for the perfect pop of colour anywhere!"

The formula of this multipurpose product was smooth and non drying. On tanned skin Girl Crush is perfect as a cheek highlighter. I personally didn't like it applied on the eyelids. It left my eyes looking like a 10 year old girl who got a hold of glittery eyeshadow. On my lips the colour was too light. The effect on my cheeks reminds me of  my NARS Orgasm blush. Girl crush is a pretty soft pink shade that I think will work well with many skin tones.
  2. BE A BOMBSHELL - Lip Crayon in 'Trophy Wife'. RRP $19.00 (Received Full Size)

The lip crayon applied smoothly on my lips. I did however feel a tingle after application, but that's just because my lips are quite sensitive to some cosmetics. Trophy Wife is a soft shimmery pink colour. The shade looked awkward on me. I think this shade would suit fairer skin tones.
  3. RED CARPET KOLOUR. RRP $49.95, 150ml (Received 2 Sachets)

An innovative, non transfer all-over body lotion that claims to provide coverage for pigmentation, veins, cellulite, stretchmarks, age spots and wrinkles.

Unfortunately, it did not deliver on it's claims. I received the shade Medium which was a perfect match for my skin tone. The cream was pretty much  just a shimmer lotion. I certainly wouldn't apply it all over the body. I think on a night out it would look good around the decolletage. Didn't cover any stretchmarks or pigmentation, but it left a pretty shimmer.
  4. WOTNOT - Facial Wipes. RRP $7.95, 25 Wipes (Received 5 Wipes)

I love this brand. I received this from one of my beauty boxes last month (I forget which one). I'll use this the next time I go away for a weekend trip. These facial wipes are excellent for those with sensitive skin.
  5. NUXE CREME NIRVANESQUE RRP $49.95, 50ml (Received 15ml Sample)

Claims to de-stress and relax expression lines. I don't have prominent lines on my face so I didn't try this product. I might give this to my mum to try...
  6. APHELIA OASIS ACNE SOLUTION RRP $49.00, 50ml (Received 2ml Sample)

A herbal acne solution that claims to  control acne and blemishes. The sample is in a mini roll on bottle, which I think might be a little unhygienic especially if you're going to apply it on blemishes...At present I don't have any blemishes *heavenly music* but come the end of the month I know I will be testing this out and fingers crossed that it lives up to it's claim.

Violet Box also included a bonus heart shaped lollipop

I'll miss my Violet Box subscriptions, especially the very handy collectible boxes. I enjoyed the contents of the boxes. There was always full sized products included in the box which made the $22.95 subscription fee worth it. The boxes came on time as well. All in all I was very happy with the service of Violet Box and I may subscribe again in the near future. If you're interested in subscribing, head on over to their website: www.violetbox,com,au

Lust Have It! January 2013 Review

This box only arrived to me this week...A month late...again. Seriously disappointed with the tardy delivery from Lust Have It! Three consecutive months of late deliveries has really annoyed me. On a more positive note, this month contained 3 full sized products which almost makes up for the super delayed postage.

So here is what was included in the January 2013 box.

Lust Have It! January 2013

  1. MODEL CO. Shine Ultra Lip Gloss in 'Strip Tease' RRP $18.00, 4ml {Received Full Size}
I love that the lip gloss tube has an in-built mirror, it's super handy and all gloss and lipsticks should have a mirror on it. The lip gloss smells absolutely sweet and delightful. 'Strip Tease' is a super light peach shade with light shimmer. Applied to my lips it was almost invisible and left a nice sheen. It did not react on my lips but it did have that sticky lip-gloss feel to it.

  2. INVISIBLE ZINC Tinted Day Wear RRP $14.95, 20ml {Received Full Size}
This 3-in-1 product is a sunscreen, moisturiser and a foundation. I received a medium shade which is great because I can use it. I've been obsessed with wearing sunscreen since discovering that my face has been freckled by the sun. Very happy to receive this product.

  3. AVEDA Dry Remedy Daily Moisturising Oil RRP $25, 40ml {Received 3ml}
This hair treatment is formulated without silicon and is formulated to penetrate and instantly moisturise hair. Unfortunately this left my hair a little greasy and I didn't even put a lot on. I think this will be perfect as an overnight treatment if you'll be washing your hair the next day.

  4. SIMPLE Cleansing Facial Wipes RRP $6.99, 25 Wipes {Received 7 wipes}
I love this! It's one of my favourite facial cleansing wipes. Perfect for those with sensitive skin. This cleanses the skin without leaving it dry. Very happy to receive this in the box.

  5. PAULA'S CHOICE Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel RRP $45.80, 118ml {Received 30ml}
This gel claims to aid in fading the signs of sun damage on the skin. It also helps to correct uneven skin tone. I haven't tried this yet because I still have alot of other products to try out first.

  6. EVODIA Lemon Sorbet Hand Cream RRP $17.95, 100ml {Received Full Size}
I haven't opened this yet but I can smell the slightly sweet lemon scent through the cap. Again, I still have a lot of hand creams that I need to use up before I open this one. Another product I'm super happy to have received.

Despite the disappointment in the super delayed postage of this box, I am very pleased with the contents of this box. I really liked receiving the Invisible Zinc and the Evodia hand cream. I hope that Lust Have It! improves with their postage and that the delay doesn't continue because I really like the company and they were the first beauty box company that I was subscribed to. Are you subscribed to Lust Have It? What did you think of the January 2013 box.

Violet Box January 2013 Review

Violet Box is another company that's been impressing me with their monthly contents. The January 2013 box had a good range of skin care products mainly from brands I haven't heard of so I was excited to get to try out new stuff.

Violet Box January 2013
  1. VILLAINESS Luxury Body Soap in Ginger Snapped

A slightly psychotic blend of sweet cinnamon, rich cardamom, spicy ginger, and a faint touch of innocent vanilla."

This soap smells so gorgeous and luxurious. It's scent is slightly sweet and not at all overpowering. It's packaged in a small envelope and the sticker label has a vintage-esque look. The soap contains ginger root throughout to aid the warming and exfoliation of the skin.
  2. MOR Hand Creams in 'Black Currant Iris' and 'Basil & Grape'

I haven't opened the two sample satchets yet, but I'm sure they would smell gorgeous.
  3. ACORELLE Eau De Parfum in 'Land of Cedar'

"With it's blend of cedar and bergamot essential oils, LAND OF CEDAR eau de parfum will restore strength, energy and a positive attitude."

Unfortunately, I did not like the scent of this perfume on me. The scent's top notes are too strong for me and too woodsy. The scent also reminds me of licorice (which I don't like). I do however like it as a room spray. I spritz it around prior to meditating and it was a great scent to set the mood. Spraying it in a room diluted the strong scent and left my room smelling like a health spa.
  4. SO SUSAN Water Based Pure Luminizer

Made in Italy, this cruelty free illuminator is 82% water-based and does not contain sulfates, mineral oils, phtalates, triclosan and animal by-products. I'm not too keen on shimmer products but I tried a little dot on my brow bone and was impressed. You only need a little bit of product to achieve the look you want.
  5. LUSH Gorgeous Facial Moisturiser

Lush's popular facial moisturiser has a steady following among beauty affecionados. I've received samples of this cream before. I've grown to like LUSH products so I liked that this was included. I'll be using this for my next DIY home facial.
  6. SO SUSAN 4-Free Nail Lacquer in '12'

12 is a soft pink shade. I'm glad that I received a relatively neutral shade as I seem to be wearing those colours a lot more. The polish formula drys relatively quickly and contains rosehip oil to moisturise and strengthen the nails and skin around it.

Overall, the contents of the January Violet Box did not disappoint. I will be staying subscribed for a little longer. I was thinking of stoping all my subscription boxes but I've been so impressed with Violet Box and Bella Box lately that I've decided to stay subscribed for a little longer. Bella Box January 2013

I have been very impressed by the contents from Bella Box and the January 2013 Bella Box contains many goodies!

Bella Box January 2013
  1. MODEL CO. Fat Lash Volumising Mascara RRP $20.00, 11ml Received Full Size.
A hydrating and lengthening mascara. At present, I have over 15 un-opened mascaras...So I don't think I'll get to try this, not for a while anyway.
  2. PALMOLIVE Ayuritual Shower Gel RRP $6.79, 400ml Received 50ml Sample.
The aromatic scent of this shower gel is surprisingly luxurious. The formula is non drying.
  3. WOTNOT Facial Wipes RRP $7.95, 25 Wipes Received 5 Wipes.
I've tried these facial wipes before and loved them! They're perfect for those with sensitive skin. The wipes are effective at removing makeup and are non drying.
  4. COCONUT REVOLUTION Coconut Body Cream RRP $24.95, 250g Received 50g.
I haven't yet opened this but already I can smell gorgeous scent of this lotion.
  5. AVENE Hydrance Optimale RRP $52.95, 40ml Received 5ml sample.
This cult beauty product has a light un-offending scent which reminds me of cosmetics from the 90s. The cream feels thick and hydrating yet not heavy and greasy. It was a pleasure to use and did not irritate my skin.
  6. AVENE Moisture Mask RRP $41.95, 50ml Received 5ml sample.
Another product with a cult following, this preservative free face mask is suitable for sensitive skin. The scent is unpleasant to me, but the formula is light weight and hydrating.
  7.  YES TO CARROTS C Me Lip Tint RRP$ 9.95 Received Full Size Sample.
I haven't opened this yet, I plan to give it to my cousin who likes organic cosmetics.

I was very happy with the contents of this box. It's contents exceeds it's subscription price and was absolutely value for  money. There was a good mix of skin care and cosmetic products in the January Bella Box. I can't wait to receive the February Bella Box. I hope it's as good as the January one.

January 2014 Product Empties

I can't believe that the first month of 2014 is almost over, It seems like January just flew by
I have a mix of product empties from December 2013 and January 2014. Here are the products I've used up within the last couple of months.

January 2014 Product Empties

  1. CLINIQUE  Liquid Facial Soap
My HG face wash. I've been using Clinique's liquid face soap for about 10 years now. I love the simplicity of the 3 step system. I've re-purchased this already.

  2. LUSH Rub Rub Rub: Body Scrub
I've reviewed this product before (click here). It's only $12.95 from Lush stores. What I love about this scrub is that it works well, it isn't very abrasive and smells wonderful. I have already re-purchased this.

  3. SALLY HANSEN Strengthening Nail Polish RemoverAnother HG product that I've re-purchased. I found that this polish remover is strong enough to remove stubborn polish yet still gentle on natural nails.

  4. CLINIQUE Deep Comfort Body Lotion
I got two deluxe samples from a FGWP offer from Clinique a while a go. The full size product is sized at 400ml and priced at AU$52.00. Although I liked the feel of the lotions on my skin, I think the price is a little hefty for a body moisturiser. I get the same results from pharmacy brand products. I won't be re-purchasing this body lotion.

  5. SWISSPERS Nail Polish Remover Pads
These are handy to have when you're travelling. They remove light layers of polish but anything more than two layers will have you using at least 1 pad per nail which is really wasteful. I also found that it's hard to remove all traces of darker polishes. I still have another brand of nail polish remover pads so I won't be re-purchasing these.

  6. CLINIQUE Dramatically Different Face Lotion
I used up a deluxe sample of the original formula for Clinique's Dramatically Different face lotion. I adored the thick-ish formula but the new lighter formula feels a lot better on my face.

  7. LANCOME Bi-Facil Eye Make Up Remover
My favourite eye makeup remover. I haven't tried anything else that removes stubborn mascara easily. I highly recommend this, even though it's pricey it's totally worth it. You only need to use a little bit and it works wonders. I have already re-purchased this.

  8. TYPO Owl Pen
This one isn't a beauty product but it has been the pen I've been using to write with (including post ideas). I love the colour and how cute the design is. Definitely will be re-purchasing this if I see it in stores.

  9. BOBBI BROWN Cleansing Oil Sample
It probably isn't fair to judge a product by a small sample amount (especially because I love Bobbi Brown) but I really didn't find this product that inspiring. It claims to dissolve makeup but It didn't take off my foundation properly. At $60 I think it's a little expensive and considering it didn't really work for me I don't think I'll be buying the full size. If you want to try a smaller size Bobbibrown.com.au are currently selling 30ml for $20.00. Cheaper than forking out $60.00 but I still feel like this is too expensive for a so-so cleanser.

  10. CLINIQUE All About Eyes: Eye Cream
I have quite a few of these from buying multiple fgwp at Clinique. This is my favourite day cream. It's luxurious yet light weight. I won't need to re-purchase this for awhile because I still have a few jars left.

  11. MAC Face & Body FoundationMy first ever trial of MAC foundation. I loved the formula but the shade that I was matched with was wrong. I'll try another shade because I love the light formula and even coverage.

  12. Perfume Atomiser
I bought at imitation Travalo perfume spray and wasted good perfume in the process. The idea was to be able to carry my perfume in a smaller vial but this one was a cheapy imitation so my perfume ended up leaking at the bottom and ruining my bag's lining. Not Happy Jan! but you get what you pay for...

  13. JOHNSON & JOHNSON'S Baby Oil
I didn't actually finish this product which was such a shame because it was a full bottle. Unfortunately the lid was broken. I didn't have the receipt for when Ibought this so I couldn't even return it. Despite the total waste, I bought another bottle of baby oil. It's such a multi purpose product. I use it as a body moisturiser, a base oil for scrubs and as a soothing oil post waxing.

  14. BLOCK & WHITE Antiperspirant
My favourite anti antiperspirant. I buy this from a Filipino grocery store. It doesn't leave white marks on my clothing, keeps the sweats away. It also reduces hair growth (yay!) and helps remove dead skin thus reducing darkening.
And that concludes this month's product empties.
What products have you finished up this month?

This post was not sponsored. All products mentioned were purchased with my own money.
My reviews are my 100% honest opinions.

Lust Have It! December 2013 Photos and Reviews

Lust have it! have been very tardy with my subscription boxes lately despite collecting payment early... *tsk tsk*.  This box actually arrived last week. A whole month late! After being disappointed by the November box, I was excited to see that the December box contained a full size SunSense anti-ageing face cream. This box contained 3 full sized products which more than covers the monthly subscription fee of $19.95.

December 2013 Lust Have It! box

  1. MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Dream Fresh BB Cream RRP$15.95, 30ml Received Full Size.

I don't have much luck with BB Creams so I was pleasantly surprised that this matched my skin tone reasonably well. The colour I received was medium. It doesn't completely blot the T-Zone area and the pores are just masked so it's not great if you have rather large pores. If you can get a shade to suit your skin tone, it leaves your skin with a "no make-up" look.

  2. MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Dream Fresh BB Cream RRP$15.95, 30ml Received 1ml.
This is pretty much the same as the above but has 2% Salicylic Acid. to help reduce and conceal imperfections. I received the shade medium-light. I haven't tried it yet so I'm not sure how well this covers.

  3. URIAGE Refreshing Gel Cream RRP$49.95, 40ml Received 15ml

This moisturiser is suited for normal-combination skin types (yay! for me) and claims to hydrate and moisturise for 24 hours. I haven't tested this yet but it smells light and pleasant and absorbed quickly on the back of my hand without being greasy.

  4. CLAIROL Visible Repair Intensive Mask RRP$13.95, 250ml Received 30ml

Designed for dry damaged hair (just what my poor tresses need) and to be used in the shower. It smells fresh. I can't wait to test this out

  5. SUNSENSE Anti-Aeging Face Lotion SPF 30+ RRP$20.95, 100ml Received Full Size.

I've only recently been protecting my face from the sun's harsh rays (very bad) so this was great for me. As an added bonus it helps to reduce wrinkles and contains AHAs, Vitamins E & B3. It's lightweight and absorbs quickly but it has THAT sunscreen smell that I can't stand, but it's not distracting. It's also made and tested here in Australia.

  6. JOHN PLUNKETT NS-3 Lip Balm RRP$6.45, 10ml Received Full Size.

A natural and organic pawpaw formula, this buttery opaque lip balm provides moisturisers and comfort to dry lips. Definitely a great comfort to chapped lips. One application is intended to last 3 hours. This lip balm doesn't contain petroleum. It's virtually scent free and applies clear on the lips.

Apart from being delivered super late, I have no qualms about this box. It contained a good mix of skin care, makeup and hair care products and apart from Uriage I'm familiar with the brands included in this box. My highlight was defintely the SunSense face lotion.

What was your favourite product from this month's box?

Bella Box December 2013 Photos and Reviews

Another impressive beauty box! The December 2013 contents were awesome and well worth the very affordable monthly subscription price of $15 (including shipping). The stuff included in this month's box are products to get you Summer ready. There was a great selection of skin care products and even a nail polish!

I love the summery print on the card included. Bella Box December 2013
This month also included a Bella Box canvas bag pictured underneath the products.
Bella Box
 December 2013

  1. AVENE D-Pigment Riche Dark Spot Lightener RRP$59.95 30ml Received 3ml Sample.

Age and sun damage can cause those annoying little brown spots (like freckles) on our faces. I never worried about dark spots until about a year a go. I noticed all these spots suddenly appearing! I'm really to blame considering I wasn't more consistent with my sunscreen so I welcome any product that's promising to diminish these spots.

  2. SINFUL COLORS Nail Enamel in #282 Love Nails RRP$4.95 15ml Received Full Size.

Love Nails is a gorgeous metallic-y teal shade. I love polishes from the Sinful Colors range. The polishes are chip resistant and Toleune, Formaldehyde & DBP free!

  3. ROMY Hand and Nail Cream RRP$33.50 100ml Received Full Size.

I received the Eucalyptus & Lemongrass scented cream. Although I haven't opened it yet it, I smell hints of mint through the packaging. The cream has no sulphates, parabens or mineral oils.

  4. ASAP Clearskin Gel RRP$59.00 120ml Received 15ml size.

With a blend of AHAs & BHA, this cleanser scrubs off dead skin cells and aims to smooth and refine the skin. I most likely won't get around testing this for a while because I still have quite a few products to try.

  5. ESLOR Sample Pack
I received a four piece sample kit including a comforting mask, replenishing scrub, soothing cream and the soothing refiner and cleanser. This kit will be perfect for my next DIY home facial.

  6. ST TROPEZ Gradual Tan in Medium/Dark RRP$33.95 200ml Received 30ml size.

This buildable tanning cream is designed to give you a subtle glow without looking like and oompa loompa. I'm naturally tanned so I'm going to give this product away.

  7. PALMERS Cocoa Butter Cleansing Gel & Facial Lotion
This was a bonus sample included in the box. I like Palmers but I might give this a miss and give it away.

And there you have it, the very impressive contents of the December 2013 Bella Box. Even though I'm going to give away a few of the items from this box, it still doesn't take away from the fact that this box is brimming with products and is well worth the $15 subscription. I like that a lot of the products are from brands I haven't heard of. I'm very pleased with this month's box. I highly recommend subscribing to this company. It's only $15 per month and you can cancel any time.

What do you think of the December 2013 Bella Box?
