Review of the November 2014 Lust Have It Beauty Box

I unsubscribed from Lust Have It! months ago because I was sick of getting so-so products delivered late but I recently availed an offer from them to get the November box for only $7.95. I can't pass up a good deal so I jumped on it as soon as I read the email. I only wanted to get the one box and I didn't think I'd be re-subscribed immediately so I got a bit of a surprise when I saw that I had an invoice for the December beauty box. I didn't really mind because I liked what was in the November box but I unsubscribed anyway. The November 2014 Lust Have It! beauty box contained 6 items - 7 if you include the beauty bag it's packaged in. I posted an image of the items I received on Instagram and in the photo you could see that one of the products was broken. Besides that though, I love everything in the November Lust Have It! beauty box.

Here is what  was included:

  1. Aveda Color Conserve. RRP $49.95, 100g. Received 10ml Deluxe Sample

This leave in treatment is designed to protect coloured hair. I haven't coloured my hair in years but I love the herbal scent of this product so I'm going to use it on the ends of my hair to give it extra hydration.

  2. So Susan Luminizer. RRP $35, 15g. Received Full Size Product

I already have this luminizer (Most likely from the Lust Have It! beauty box) and I have been using it alot more since the weather in Sydney started heating up. It's a water based product that's designed to melt into your skin and highlight the areas you've applied it on. I apply it on my brow bone and underneath my blush. It's also great for vegans because it contains no animal by-products and is cruelty free. Unfortunately this product arrived damaged for me. I've since covered up the top of the tube with plastic wrap to prevent it from drying up. I' m yet to receive a response about a replacement product from the LHI team.

  3. Natralus Paw Paw Gel. RRP $6.15, 30g. Received Full Size Product

A non oily, non sticky relief gel. This is a MUST HAVE for summer. I was a little silly on my recent camping trip and didn't apply sunscreen adequately so I am still peeling. This gel soothes and cools down the skin and dries matte. There's no colour and no scent so it's perfect for outdoors. I love it. I'll have to dedicated a whole review for it.

  4. Essenzza Facial Treatment Masks. RRP $4.95 x 2. Received 2 Masks

Suitable for all skin types but I haven't used it yet because of my face peeling from sunburn, but when that passes, I'll be using this on DIY facial masks.

  5. The Cosmetic Kitchen Pressed Mineral Blush. RRP $34.95, 8g. Received Full Size Product

A pure pressed mineral blush compact. I received the colour Raw Cacao which looks like a dusty pink shade. It's too light for my skin tone as a blush but perfect as a highlighter. The packaging is a black matte compact. Simple but I love that it's in a classic colour. Not 100% in love with it but I'm happy it's included in the beauty box.

All of the goodies came packaged in this pretty and practical pink mesh beauty bag. I remember writing in a suggestion (from their monthly  questionnaire) that they should package their items in a clear makeup bag so I was happy to see that they do this now [And in my crazy little head I like to take the credit for this HAHA!)

I'm more than happy with everything here and even happier that I only paid $7.95 for it. As I said earlier, I am subscribed for the December 2014 box so if that impresses me A LOT I could re-subscribe, if not at least I wouldn't be leaving Lust Have It very disappointed.

The Parcel by Marie Claire Summer 2015 Edit Box Reveal & Review

The Parcel by Marie Claire | Summer 2015 Edit
I have nothing but high praise for 'The Parcel' beauty box. Last season's premiere (click here to read my review) was impressive and the Summer 2015 edit is by far THE BEST beauty box I have ever received. This season's beauty box contains 11 goodies 5 of which are full sized products. So, without further ado here is what was included and what I thought about the products.

The Parcel by Marie Claire | Summer 2015 Edit

  1. Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara. RRP $23.95, 12ml. Received Full Size Product

This was a bonus for signing up to the Summer 2015 edit. If you follow me on instagram you'd know that I have a drawer full of mascaras yet to try. I'm fond of Max Factor. Having been the first makeup brand for films, I trust that their products will deliver what they promise. It's just a shame though that their marketing isn't as good...or maybe I should be happy cos it just means that their prices will be kept reasonable and I can continue buying my old time faves haha!...But really more people should try their range.

  2. Jergens Ultra Healing Body Moisturiser. RRP $5.99, 100ml. Received Full Size Product

I llooovvee Jergens! I was over the moon when I found out that it was going to be available in Priceline stores because I only got Jergens when my Godmother would come over from the US. Jergens is one of the top selling body lotions in America. It's super affordable and best of all it works wonders! I have sensitive skin but I never had a reaction from using the original formula however I think they also have a range for sensitive skin. If you haven't already tried Jergens I highly recommend you do and at under $6 you really can't go wrong.

  3. Revlon Age Defying CC Cream. RRP $26.95, 30ml. Received Full Size Product
Aimed to address hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, dehydration and uneven skin tone. This all-round face base also offers SPF 30 protection. I'm about 2 shades darker on my face at the moment so the shade I received "medium" would have been perfect but I'm going to have to wait until my "tan" disappears.

  4. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant. RRP $25, 50ml. Received 15g deluxe sample

I got sunburnt from my recent camp get away so this product is heavenly for my peeling and sun damaged skin. It's a beauty all rounder that you can use on your face (including lips) as well as your body. It's fragrance free but I can smell a hint of menthol, nothing drastic but I'm not a fan of the scent so it's a good thing that this product hydrates quickly and soothes the skin.

  5. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye. RRP $95. Received 5ml deluxe sample

This product is Australia's number eye treatment. I have heard nothing but good things about this product. I've only ever used samples of it because I still have a lot of eye creams to use up. I started using eye creams about 5 years ago and I can't get enough of them. I'm prone to dryness around my eyes so having an extra moisturizing eye cream really helps when I apply foundation. I love the hydration that this gives but I still can't justify the $95 price tag.

  6. Essie 'Good To Go' Top Coat. RRP $17.95, 15ml. Received Full Size Product

I love Essie nail polishes so when I saw that there was two of them in this months box I literally squealed with excitement. I received the 'Good To Go' Top Coat which is a rapid dry + shine product. I haven't used it yet because I'm finishing up my Seche Vite top coat but I'm sure that this will dry nails faster and leave a shiny top coat as promised.

  7. Essie Nail Lacquer in Sand Tropez. RRP $16.95, 15ml. Received Full Size Product

This gorgeous nude/beige shade is perfect for all seasons in my opinion. As with all polishes, 2-3 light coats of the product is recommended for the perfect finish.

  8. Philosophy Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser. RRP $15,90ml. Received 30ml deluxe sample

I haven't tried this cleanser yet. I can smell a herbal scent from it. I'll most likely be reserving this for when I travel next or go camping again.

  9. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Conditioner. RRP $15.99. Received 44ml deluxe sample

Designed to give fine hair volume. I'm fortunate to have been blessed with thick
(albeit difficult to manage at times) hair so this product didn't excite me as much as an anti-frizz serum would, but nonetheless I love John Frieda and the handy purse size will come handy when I travel.

  10. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo. RRP $15.99. Received 44ml deluxe sample

Pretty much all of the above but I'll add that the scent of both products is just divine. It's floral, fruity and fresh! I love using gorgeous scented products so this is a major bonus for me.

  11. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow Out Spray. RRP $16.99. Received 29ml deluxe sample

Again, I don't have much use for a volumising spray but it'll come handy when I need to do a doughnut updo and I need an extra lift in my hair.
There you have it, the beautiful contents of the Summer 2015 edit. The full sized products alone cost a total of $91.79. The subscription costs $25 so as you can see the contents more than cover the subscription price. I can't help but gush over how good this box is. I've recommended it to everyone I know. If you're new to beauty boxes, I suggest giving this a go. If you want to find out more click here. This box is going to be a tough act to follow but hopefully it only gets better.

Have you tried any of the products here?

The Parcel by Marie Claire Spring Edit 2014 Box Reveal & Review

The Parcel by Marie Claire Beauty Box pretty much works the same way as all the other beauty boxes except that it's a seasonal subscription box which means it's not so heavy on the pocket (like other subscription boxes can be) and the products are handpicked by the editorial team so you're guaranteed to receive on trend products for the season.

The first box arrived in early October. There was a total of 8 items 3 of which were full sized products. Here's what was in my Spring Edit 2014 box.

The Parcel | Spring Edit 2014
  1. L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Purse-Size Hairspray.  RRP $4.95, 75ml. Received Full Size

There is a reason why this product is a HG for celebrities and beauty aficionados alike. It has great hold without making hair stiff and also brushes out easily. I also like the pleasant fragrance and the iconic gold can. Definitely a product I can recommend. I don't use hairspray often so I like that it's purse-size. It's handy to carry around and because of it's compact size it doesn't take up much room.

  2. O.P.I Nail Lacquer in Desperately Seeking Sequins.  RRP $19.95, 15ml. Received Full Size

The included pamphlet had Gwen Stefani's range with OPI listed as the included polish so I was a teency bit disappointed that I hadn't received a shade from the new range. But I'm not too bummed out because Desperately Seeking Sequins is a gorgeous glitter polish that reminds me of an American Christmas with it's flake like silver specks.

  3. LANCOME Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector. RRP $97, 30ml. Received 7ml

This award winning product claims to visibly correct wrinkles, pores and the skin's texture in 6 weeks. I still haven't used the samles I already have of this product so I can't really comment on it's effectiveness. However Lancome is a brand that often delivers on it's claim so I have no doubt that it will deliver on it's claim about correcting the pores and the skin's texture. I don't really believe that creams can reverse wrinkles (or stretch marks) so I wouldn't hold my breath about that claim.

  4. BENEFIT They're Real! Push-Up Line. RRP $35.00. Received 10g

I was a such a noob when I used the liner sample. I had to google it a few times and watch a few youtube videos on how to use it. When I finally squeezed some product out I actually liked how the product glided over my lids. The sample size is a little awkward to manouver but from watching the youtube videos the full size product shouldn't be too difficult to use.

BENEFIT They're Real! Mascara. RRP $38.00. Received 3.0g

If you follow my instagram you'd see that not too long ago I posted a photo of my mascara drawer...I literally have enough to last me 1 (if not 2) years so I haven't gotten around to trying this out yet.

  5. REVLON Colorstay Moisture Stain. RRP $25.95 Received 8.0ml Full Size

I received the shade Miami Fever which I would describe as a fluro coral colour. I haven't decided whether I really like the product or not but it's not bad. Maybe it's the shade that's left me on the fence with this one but I'll keep using it so I can give it a proper review.

  6. PANTENE Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo & Conditioner. Received Mini Sample Size

This Pantene duo makes an appearance in almost all beauty boxes so I have a few of these in stock. I don't really like receiving this duo in beauty boxes anymore but hopefully it'll come in handy when I go way on holidays.

I really liked that the premiere of this box contained 3 full sized products and the contents more than cover the cost price of the beauty box. My favourite was the OPI glitter polish. I've decided to subscribe to this box again so I'm looking froward to the Summer 2015 Edit which will be sent out mid December. All in all I would recommend this box to a friend. Hopefully they continue to deliver great products.
